What is water surface tension?
Surface Tension or Surface Film is a property of the surface of a liquid/water that causes it to behave like a sheet. It allows insects, such as the water strider (pond skater in the UK), to walk on water, and small objects, such as Dry Flies to float on the surface of water.
Many patterns take advantage of surface tension to appear like an insect which is alive and kicking, yet trapped tricking fish to view them as easy pickings.
