How to fish with a floating line
A Floating line, or Dry line are by far the most popular used lines within the fly fishing sport. Floaters are used for fishing both dry flies on the surface film of the water, and also other flies such as nymphs, lures and wet flies which sit just below the surface. Without the use of a floating line, the weight of the line would drag these types of flies down altering the position where they should sit within the water.
Another great benefit of a dry line is that they float on the water, making them much easier to lift from the water.
Alternatively you may wish to use a intermedita line or sinking line to obtain a different sink rate.
