For
the first time in F4F chart history, 50% of the top patterns are Salmon
flies! Even more impressively, two of these Salmon patterns have made
it into the top 3. Last August, we saw Salmon patterns gaining traction
at the lower end of the chart, prompting us to create a special Salmon
chart. This year, they're showing up in equal numbers (in terms of
sales), indicating a growing interest among anglers targeting Salmon.
The Pearly Daddy
continues to reign as the most popular fly of the month, securing the
top position for the fourth consecutive year; an undeniably highly
effective favourite for August. The Apache White also remains a solid performer throughout the year. Meanwhile, Gnats and Snails have proven to be effective choices during the summer months.
As for Salmon flies, we have three traditional doubles leading the pack: Ally's Shrimp Cascade, The Ghillie, and the Aurora Cascade. Additionally, micros have been particularly popular for low water conditions.
These
trending flies provide a clear picture of what's happening on the water
right now and highlight the patterns other anglers are using to land
their catches!
