About the Bossbob's Hellgrammite Trout Fly

Bossbob's Hellgrammite is a monster fly larvae used by fisherman to attracting monster trout and other large freshwater species such as bass and catfish.

Hellgramites are the larval stage of a type of insect known as the Dobsonfly. They are also known as toe biters and are found in freshwater streams and rivers, where they live in the sediment and feed on other aquatic invertebrates. They have a hard, segmented exoskeleton, and they are typically brown or black in color.

During the adult stage, the dobsonfly is a large and distinctive looking insect that has long, delicate wings and large mandibles. The adult insects are not typically encountered as frequently as the larvae because they live for a shorter period of time, typically just a few weeks, during which time they are primarily active at night and are not often seen by humans.
