About the Elwyn's Lure Trout Fly
In his younger days Elwyn excelled in the physical challenge of rugby but and succumbed to the gentler allure of fly fishing later in life.
The fluorescent green is very attractive to trout and the only other colour the fish seem to be interested in is orange. The two colours form a killing pattern which this lure has proved to be.
It works well in coloured water.

Pattern Dressings
- Hook : 6-10.
- Thread : Red.
- Tail : Green fluorescent wool.
- Body : Green flouorescent chenille.
- Thorax : Dark green suede chennile.
- Hackle : Red cock hackles.
- Wing : Orange marabou.
- Head : Gold bead.
If this lure is to be weighted, the amount of lead wire wrapped around the hook shank is dependant on the water you are fishing and how deep you believe the fish are.
