About the Iron Blue Spinner (male) Trout Fly
The Iron Blue Spinner (male) is a pattern devised to represent the dying iron blue natural, lying exhausted in the water's film.
It prefers to hatch on cold, wet and windy days, so keep this in a separate area of your flybox dedicated for when the weather is on the dull side.
Expert Tip:
This iron blue works well as a Mayfly pattern in May, and again in the autumn, just outside the heat of summer.

Comments from other fly fishermen
What technique do you use to end up with white thread/silk to do the head and finish, rather than the red you started with? - Posted by Ant Sharman on 05/11/2007
In answer to Ant Sharman tie the shoulder as you would do the tail end, that way you end up with white at the head simple. - Posted by george cairney on 26/04/2010
