About the Orange Drunken Daddy Trout Fly
The Drunken Daddy fishing fly is a great imitation of a daddy which has been caught out by the wind and sent flying straight into the water! These daddies do look like they have had a bit too much to drink!
The orange body of this daddy pattern acts as an attractor if fish seem to have 'disappeared' for the day. The long knotted and dangly legs of the daddy fishing fly also helps attract fish from anywhere within the water column.
Expert Tip:
Daddy Longlegs become a popular fishing fly when once autumn starts to take a hold, and the fish get the taste for this easy meal real quick. Fish on an autumn's day when there is a slight breeze in the air. Daddies are not strong at flying, they get caught in light winds and often end up on the surface of the water where they make a mouthful for passing trout. Even if the trout are at a depth, the size of the daddies will attract them up to feed.
