About the Foam Daddy Trout Fly
The Foam Daddy is a classic fly fishing pattern that imitates a daddy longlegs.
Foam allows the daddy to float on the surface of the water, which makes it more visible to fish due to it's silhouette against the sky.
It can be very effective in busy and turbulent water, and is at its best from June until early October when daddy longlegs or crane flies are on the water.
Expert Tip:
Daddy long legs are considered a terrestrial insect, known to fall in the water while they are mating, falling prey to any parsing fish. Daddys therefore are an effective and popular pattern to tie and have available throughout the season whenever they appear hovering around the water.
This trout fly is designed to be fished on Dams & Reservoirs, Rivers & Streams, Still Water
