What is a Jungle Cock?
The versatile JC, "Jungle Cock Cape" has been in use for salmon flies since the nineteenth century. The most recognized feather is the cape feather or the jungle cock nail.
JC is an important added dressing for Salmon flies, ideal for cheeks, also tail veiling's, under-wings and body veiling's. The Grey Jungle Cock nail is the most sought after feather. The lower nape grey and transition feathers can be use for various streamers, Sea Trout, Steelhead and Salmon patterns.
Although widely used for salmon fishing, the attractive JC feather has made its way into several Trout patterns.
