About the Tippet Rings Accessories Fly
A pack of 10 tippet rings, 2mm in diameter, with a strength rating of 25lb.
Tippet rings can be used in a variety of ways; the most common use of a tippet ring is to connect the leader to the tippet. This allows you to add tippet to the leader without cutting back the leader itself, thus extending the life of your leader.
However tippet rings are also popularly used in different Rig setups:
Dropper Rigs: Tippet rings are great for creating dropper rigs. By attaching the ring to your leader, you can then attach a length of tippet to the ring and tie on an additional fly.
European or Nymphing Rigs: If you're a fan of European or tight line nymphing, tippet rings can be very useful. These rigs often involve multiple changes of tippet diameter, and a tippet ring makes a great transition point.
Dry-Dropper Rigs: Tippet rings can be very useful in creating dry-dropper rigs, where a dry fly is used as an indicator with a nymph dropper below it.
Indicator Rigs: Some anglers use tippet rings to attach their strike indicators, especially in a slip indicator setup.
Transition Point: If you're fishing with a two-fly setup, tippet rings can provide a clear transition point between your flies. This can make it easier to untangle if you get a snag.
